In training...

Every year, there is a 1600 kilometre dog sledding race, The Quest, that runs between Whitehorse and Fairbanks Alaska...It takes more than 10 days to complete....In this year's race, temperatures along the trail were reported as low as -55 F (-48 C) and rarely climbed above -10 F (-23 C).

After my two hours of dog mushing....I've now taken "The Quest" off of my list of things to do before I die...lol

Spent the day touring a wildlife preserve and then soaking in the Takhini Hot Springs... (was too steamy to take pictures in the hot springs...)

Opening Ceremonies...

Anyone got a light?

For those of you who watched the Opening Ceremonies on tv....I was the third head on the left as Stephen Harper walked in...lol

Brought the weather with me....

14 hours, three planes, and two bag of dill pickle chips later.....I finally arrived in Beautiful Whitehorse...My host Lee was there to help me with my 55lb bag...and take me to my home for the next two weeks...



And "You're Welcome" to all of you in Ontario that are now experiencing nice balmy weather....I have brought our minus 30 degree weather with me to the Yukon. Until I came, they were experiencing mild weather....and now it could go as low as -40... My first purchase was a beautiful wool hat that covers my ears....(picture to come soon...)

My host Lee and I spent my first day here touring the Winter Games sights and downtown Whitehorse. Tomorrow is our first day of volunteering...And then the Opening Ceremonies are on Friday....
